Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC)

The Basic Ecclesial Community (BEC) Ministry at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (NBVM) Parish serves as a cornerstone of our mission to build a more personal, prayerful, and participatory Church. Through small, neighborhood-based communities, parishioners come together regularly to share the Word of God, pray, reflect, and support one another in living out the Gospel in daily life.

At present, NBVM Parish is home to 33 active BECs, each representing a small, vibrant community within the larger parish family. These gatherings offer a welcoming environment for spiritual growth, fellowship, and outreach—making the Church more accessible and alive in the homes and hearts of our faithful.

The BEC Ministry strengthens the bonds of faith and friendship among parishioners, fosters lay leadership, and encourages each member to take an active role in the life and mission of the Church. It is a living expression of communion and service, in line with our parish vision of being a Christ-centered, Spirit-filled, and mission-oriented community.

Ongoing Formation for BEC Leaders
To support and equip our BEC leaders in their pastoral roles, the parish conducts a monthly BEC Leaders’ Formation Session. These sessions provide spiritual nourishment, leadership training, and pastoral guidance, enabling leaders to better serve their communities and grow in their own discipleship. It is also a space for sharing experiences, challenges, and best practices across the 33 BECs.

Through these regular formations, our leaders are continually formed and strengthened, ensuring that each BEC remains a vibrant and faithful expression of the Church at the grassroots.

Be Part of a BEC
We warmly invite all parishioners to join a BEC near them and become part of this growing network of faith, friendship, and service.
