Fr. Dom’s Pastoral Visit to St. Mark BEC
On 28th August 2025, Thursday, the members of the St. Mark BEC joyfully welcomed our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Dominic Santhiyagu, for his pastoral visitation at the home of one of the BEC member, brother Steven. The evening began with an opening speech by Madam Reginacaeli, followed by a warm gesture from all the BEC members, represented by the host Steven, who welcomed Father Dominic with a flower garland.
Father Dominic led the BEC members into prayer and worship with an opening prayer and a beautiful hymn before proclaiming the Word of the Lord. The gathering then moved into a time of open sharing, where members, both the elders and youths, expressed the challenges they face in their daily lives. Together with the BEC members, Father Dominic reflected on these concerns and also shared valuable insights on current issues. He reminded them of the important role each one plays in building a compassionate and Christ-like society.
The sharing session concluded with a closing prayer and hymn. Afterward, Father Dominic offered anointing of the sick for all who were present, praying for mental, physical, and spiritual renewal. He also blessed the meal prepared by the BEC members, after which everyone delighted in a joyful potluck dinner together.
As for the final highlight of the visitation, Father Dominic appointed brother Oliver, as the new BEC leader, entrusting him with the responsibility of guiding the members in faith and fellowship. The visitation left everyone spiritually enriched, united, and grateful for the priest’s presence among them.
