Confirmation Retreat Day 2: Reflections on the Gospel of Mark
This day was the most eventful day out of the three days. One of the highlights of the day that I remember vividly was the water balloons activity that we did outside on the field. I felt that this activity improved the bond between everybody in the class. We also had a mass in the conference room that started at evening which lasted until the next day. Father Dominic blessed us all including Brother Boniface. We also wrote what we wanted to do for Jesus on a paper and offered it as offering to the mass the next day. By Decclan
Reflections on the Gospel of Mark
Session 1: Crowd
The First Session “Crowd” is spoken by Brother Bonny. The crowd is a group of people that support and do not support Jesus, they do not have a fixed idea about Christ, some of them agree with Christ, some of them disagree with Christ. There is also a woman who was healed when she touched Jesus. by Aaron J
Session 2: Friends
Sr. Mary Magdalene presented the session on Friends. Jesus had friends but only some friends of Jesus followed him to become his disciples. They did not remain in the crowd. By Sherona
Session 3: Disciples
CONFIRMATION RETREAT 3rd SESSION : DISCIPLE
Mary Anne Robert presented the session on discipleship and the fruits of the holy spirit. To become a disciple we need this three things in us which is discipline, mindset ,our relationship with god. In addition, we will need to give up somethings to become a faithful disciple of Christ – negative thinking & focusing on problems. Furthermore, I learned that baptism is meant to show the world that we love, trust and put our hope in Chris. Lastly, the session touched me the most was we can rely on God and do amazing things because of the Spirit in Us. By Cassandra
Session 4: Apostles
The fourth session of the confirmation camp was presented by Father Dominic. Father Dominic started the session of by revising on what it is to be a crowd, friend and disciple of God and he questioned us with a hard-hitting question, “are you a friend, the crowd, a disciple or apostle of god”. This question stumped majority of us and had us thinking, but Father Dominic went on to continue about what it takes to be an apostle and what the disciples of Jesus had went through. Father Dominic taught us that although we humans have their own flaws and imperfections, God still loves and forgives us for it. Although we sin daily, he chooses to forgive us, through his everlasting love for all of us. Father Dominic went on to go through some of Jesus’s disciples that had to do tasks that required lots of faith. I left that session with the same lingering question, “what am I to god?” By Ignatius
