Sent Two by Two
On 20 July, the Confirmation class was sent out two by two to pray over parishioners. During the catechism class, they were encouraged to approach members of the congregation and offer a short prayer for them. This simple yet meaningful exercise was intended to instill in the students a sense of mission and a calling to serve as witnesses of Christ’s love and mission.

As preparation, they reflected on Luke 10:1–9, where Jesus sends out the seventy-two disciples to continue His ministry of healing, while relying entirely on God’s providence. They were reminded that, like the disciples, they too might encounter rejection, but should not be discouraged.
“Go! I am sending you out like lambs among wolves. Do not take a purse or bag or sandals… When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ If someone who promotes peace is there, your peace will rest on them; if not, it will return to you.” (Luke 10:3–6)
After this mission activity, the students wrote their personal reflections, sharing how the experience deepened their understanding of discipleship, prayer, and trust in God. SR
Levi and Darius: When we prayed over the people, we found that something as simple as a short prayer could be as meaningful and sentimental. Apart from that, we felt the presence of the Lord, he guided us throughout the entire session and helped us to pray over the people.

Jayden and Brian: We experienced God’s presence and his blessings through other people. We were glad that we were able to help and pray over people who may need our prayers. We invited the Holy Spirit to come upon them and help them in their lives.

Viveena and Danila: It was such a meaningful experience. At first, we were nervous and a little lost for words, but as we continued, it became a truly beautiful moment. Many of the people we prayed for were very happy and grateful, and we also received blessings from them in return. It felt both humbling and uplifting to see how something as simple as prayer could bring so much joy and peace to others, while also strengthening our own faith.

Runisha and Nico: It was a simple act, but it left a deep impact on both of us. As we reached out to others we felt a mix of emotions: humility, hope, and a powerful sense of connection. Each prayer was a moment of peace, a small reminder that people are not alone in whatever they’re going through but in every case, we could feel something meaningful happening. It wasn’t about us having the right words it was about showing up, being present, and lifting others up with love.Walking away from those moments, Nico and I both felt lighter and more connected not just to the people we prayed for, but to something greater than ourselves. It reminded us that even small acts of faith can bring light into someone’s day. And in doing that, our own hearts were filled too.

Francisca and Elisa: We were very happy that we offered prayers to people. This is the first time we do this for those whom we never knew. Besides that, this also helps us to be more courageous.

Jesse and Raymand: We found the experience to be eye-opening and enriching and fulfilling, as we spread the love of God among fellow parishioners.
