A Morning with Mary

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments in parish life are found in the simplest things. A familiar smile, a prayer shared together, a meal among friends, and the joy of belonging to a community that cares.

On 7 October 2026, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, 45 members of the NBVM and SCIC senior citizens community came together for Morning with Mary, a gathering organised by the Senior Citizens Ministry to celebrate faith, friendship and devotion to Our Blessed Mother.

The morning began with gentle exercises and cheerful fellowship, followed by a film and a short video reflecting on Mary’s call to repentance, conversion and the daily recitation of the Rosary.

The highlight was the Mission Rosary, where everyone joined in prayer, entrusting the needs of the Church and the world to Mary’s loving intercession. It was a beautiful reminder that while each of us carries different hopes, worries and intentions, we are united in faith and prayer.

The gathering was made even more special by the presence of Fr Bernard, who joined everyone for the film, Rosary and fellowship, offering his reflections and encouragement.

The morning ended with Mary’s Meal, a joyful time of food, laughter and conversation. The meal was completely sold out, reflecting the wonderful support and enthusiasm of the community.

Beyond the prayers and activities, Morning with Mary reminded us of something equally precious: the importance of being present for one another. As we grow older, friendship and companionship become even more meaningful, and our faith continues to grow through the simple ways we care for each other.

Heartfelt thanks to Fr Bernard, Stephen Francis, the Senior Citizens Ministry and everyone who helped make this gathering possible.

May Our Blessed Mother continue to guide our parish family, strengthen our faith and inspire us to grow closer to her Son and to one another.

Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us. (Senior Citizens Ministry)
