A Spiritual Gotong Royong with Our Senior Citizens

As Christmas draws near, our Senior Citizens Ministry gathered for a simple and joyful act of service at NBVM on 22 December 2025.

What made this gathering special was not just the work done, but the spirit behind it. Our seniors came together to care for God’s house with prayerful hearts, gentle laughter, and a deep sense of gratitude. Every sweep, every wipe, and every shared smile became a quiet way of saying, “Lord, we welcome You.”

Though only a small group was expected, more seniors came forward, eager to serve. The church was filled with movement, teamwork, and a calm sense of purpose. What might have been an ordinary clean-up turned into a beautiful moment of togetherness and faith.

There was joy in the simplicity of it all. Joy in serving side by side. Joy in knowing that love does not need grand gestures, only willing hearts.

As we prepare to celebrate the birth of Christ, this Spiritual Gotong Royong reminded us that the best preparation is love in action. Our seniors showed us that even the smallest acts, done with faith, can become a gift to God.
