Smiles All Around – Parish Dental Screening a Big Success
On the morning of 13 July, our parish came alive with laughter, learning, and lots of smiles as the Senior Citizens of NBVM/SCIC hosted a free dental screening event at St Joseph’s House. The event ran from 8am to 12.45pm and drew 73 parishioners, all eager to take part in this health-focused initiative.
Thanks to the support of 15 professional staff from Pejabat Pergigian SPU, each participant received a thorough dental check-up and helpful advice. The team’s friendly and respectful approach put everyone at ease, from children to seniors.
Beyond the check-ups, the day featured an engaging oral health exhibition and fun activities for children. While adults had their screenings, the younger ones played games designed to teach good dental habits in a way that was simple and enjoyable.
The entire event was made possible by the teamwork and hospitality of our senior citizens and volunteers. Their dedication created a warm, welcoming atmosphere that reminded us all of what it means to serve together as one community.
This initiative wasn’t just about dental health. It was about caring for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit. It brought people of all ages together, encouraged volunteerism, and reflected the Church’s mission to be a source of love and support for all.
Up next, our parish will embark on a Pilgrimage Walk, a meaningful journey that combines physical activity with spiritual renewal and fellowship. Stay tuned for more details, and join us as we continue walking together in faith, service, and joy. (Senior Citizen’s Ministry)
