Throwback : Installed to Serve – Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Commissioned on Trinity Sunday

In conjunction with the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, the parish joyfully commissioned new Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to serve the faithful. During the commissioning rite, the candidates affirmed their commitment to administer the Body and Blood of Christ with reverence and care, while embracing their responsibilities to bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound, assist in communion services, and support funeral services when required. They were reminded that their ministry calls them to be exemplary witnesses of faith, holiness, and Christian service.

The celebration was especially meaningful as it coincided with Trinity Sunday. Reflecting on the Scriptures, Fr. Dom highlighted during his homily the work of the Holy Trinity throughout salvation history: God the Father as Creator, God the Son as Redeemer, and God the Holy Spirit as the One who continually strengthens and guides the Church. Through the Father’s loving plan, the Son’s saving mission, and the Spirit’s ongoing presence, the faithful are united as one people of God and called to continue Christ’s mission in the world.

Following the blessing and commissioning, the newly appointed ministers were entrusted to serve the parish communities of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Butterworth, and Saints Chastan and Imbert. As they begin this important ministry, the parish community prays that they will be strengthened by God’s grace and guided by the Holy Spirit to serve with humility, devotion, and a deep love for the Eucharist, becoming instruments of Christ’s presence to all whom they encounter.
