Throwback 2025: Confirmation Class on Missional Exploration

The confirmation students from all language groups participated in a Missional Exploration themed “Called to Serve, Sent to Witness” on 11 October 2025. The group departed from NBVM in the morning by bus and travelled to the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Sungai Batu. Upon arrival, they were briefed by Mr. Francis on the significance of the chapel and the many miracles associated with it. This was followed by a short ice-breaking session conducted by Domingo and the celebration of Mass.

The students were deeply touched by the miracle stories and were inspired to write their own petitions. They felt truly blessed to have visited and celebrated Mass in such a miraculous place.

After lunch, the pilgrims proceeded to the Church of Christ the King, Sg. Petani where they were warmly welcomed by Fr. Victor Louis, the former parish priest of NBVM. It was a memorable moment for both Fr. Victor and the group, as he fondly recalled some of the students from when they were much younger. Seven years had passed since his transfer, and Fr. Victor expressed his joy at seeing the young parishioners grow in faith. He also briefed the group about the church, which was celebrating its 100th anniversary, and invited everyone to the centenary celebrations. He was most hospitable and graciously hosted the group for afternoon tea.

The subsequent sessions included a talk by Bro. Daniel on the meaning of Confirmation, followed by Sr. Fatima from Samaritan Hope, who spoke about being attuned to the call of Christ. Joshua Robert then shared a moving testimony on how trusting in God gave him the courage to pursue his dreams.

Overall, the trip fostered strong bonds among the students and brought them closer to one another. They journeyed together with hope and joy. During the reflection session, they shared on the following questions :

Which experience touched their hearts most? Where did they experience God today? How is God calling them to life their confirmation promises fully? SR
