A Joyful Christmas Afternoon with Our Senior Citizens
Christmas came early for our senior parishioners this year.
On Wednesday, 17 December 2025, about 80 seniors gathered for a Pizza High Tea Christmas Get-Together at St Joseph’s House, NBVM.
The afternoon began with an opening prayer and a blessing of the food by Bro Daniel. To ensure comfort and ease, most of the food was thoughtfully placed on the tables, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the moment. A lovely spread was shared, with the much-anticipated US pizza bringing extra joy. Door gifts and lucky draw items, generously donated by a parishioner, added excitement and warm smiles all around.
Our parish priests shared encouraging words. Fr Dom praised the Senior Citizens Ministry for its care and dedication to the elderly. Fr David Lourdes expressed his joy at seeing so many seniors looking lively and full of spirit, and encouraged continued participation in parish life.
This gathering reflects the heart of our church.
It shows our call to care for one another, especially those who have given so much to the community over the years. Moments like this help build unity, warmth, and a true sense of belonging.
Looking ahead, the Senior Citizens Ministry plans to continue this spirit of togetherness through future activities, including a Spiritual Gotong Royong. These efforts remind us that faith is lived out not only in prayer, but also in shared time, service, and love.
It was truly a meaningful and joyful way to celebrate Christmas together. (Senior Citizens Ministry)
