The Spirit Alive in Our Youth
After a long break, our youth team finally gathered again on Saturday, 2nd August 2025. It was truly a grace-filled evening of reconnecting with each other and with God.
We began with a chain prayer, followed by a Scripture reading from Isaiah 41:10:
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
A short reflection followed the reading, preparing our hearts for an open talk session. The question posed was:
“What are the blessings God has given you, whether in happiness or sadness? Whatever is in your heart, feel free to share.”
To our surprise, each youth opened up honestly and deeply. Many shared their heartfelt testimonies, and some even shed tears as they expressed their struggles and the ways God has touched their lives.
Here are some of their sharings:
Youth 1:
“I had many problems in my family. For months, we had no peace, and it felt like no one could help us. But God did. He delivered us from the darkness. I used to choose the wrong path and wrong friends. But one day, God gave me a chance to change. Now, I surrender everything to Him, and He’s leading me in the right direction. Amen.”
Youth 2:
“Dear youths, surrender everything to God. Even if you’ve sinned, stopped going to church, or lost your prayer life, come back to Him. He is always there, waiting for you. Amen.”
Youth 3:
“Youths are my family. I feel peace and joy every time I join youth gatherings and serve God. I used to look for happiness outside, but now I feel God’s presence here. I trust in Him, and He will guide me.”
Youth 4:
“I came to this church because of my friend. I was really touched by God’s Word. I’ve found new friends and a new family here. Recently, I even got a new job—it’s truly God’s blessing. I’ve started praying and joining Bible sharings outside of church too. I’ve now been baptised in Christ, and I’m ready to serve Him. Amen.”
Youth 5:
“God always gives me what I ask, but I kept complaining during my trials. Looking back, I see how much He loves me. I used to pray only for my own desires, but now I realise not everything I want is part of God’s will. That’s why I struggled. Now, I surrender to Him. He will guide me His way. Amen.”
Some of us cried during the sharing—it was truly a healing and heartfelt moment. The Holy Spirit was clearly moving among us.
We ended the gathering with a closing prayer and hymns. And of course, we enjoyed our “pot bless” fellowship time with special masala tea and pani puri.
It was a beautiful evening.
The Holy Spirit is truly alive in our youth. Amen. (Tamil Youth Group)
