1st Holy Communion on a Joyful 3rd Advent Sunday
On 13 December 2020, the 3rd Sunday of Advent, 24 children from our parish received their First Holy Communion at the morning Mass in SCIC.
It was a fitting occasion to celebrate on the 3rd week of Advent, which commemorates the theme of Joy. After many months of waiting to receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist, it was indeed a most joyous experience for the children and for their families who gathered to witness them achieving this milestone in their faith journey.
“You may not fully understand what you are receiving today, but let the presence of all of us here today and our belief in the Eucharist help you grow in your faith and understanding that we truly receive Jesus in the Eucharist,” said Fr Dom to the children.
We pray that the Eucharist will strengthen the children and be a reminder that Jesus is always with them.
