Rosary- a beautiful opportunity to gather online

Before, the world was saved by means of Noah’s ArkToday the Ark is My mother.”

When the invitation to come join and recite the rosary live on our NBVM & SCIC parish Facebook was posted in our WhatsApp group, I immediately knew that I have to set aside this special time to come and pray the rosary together as one.  Besides, the Almighty God will be very pleased to have people gathered together in prayer.

With the Conditional Movement Control Order still being enforced and religious gatherings prohibited, that was indeed a beautiful opportunity to gather online and recite the Most Holy Rosary in the month of May, a month dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Furthermore, public prayers like this will keep my mind far more alert than when I prayed alone.

8.30pm. It was time to begin our prayers.  Glancing down the screen of my laptop, the list of followers caught my eyes. The number was not something everyone would shout about but those figures did not bother me because the church has taken the recitation of the rosary to a new height.  Moreover, the Lord has always said “Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in the midst of them.”

As we encountered God through the recitation of the rosary in four different languages:  English, Tamil, Mandarin and Bahasa, and from various residential areas, I could not help but thought of the complexities involved to broadcast this event to an online audience. The efforts taken to draw people from near and far closer in prayers with God is deeply applauded. Hats off to all involved!  May the Lord bless all of you and smile upon you always for all that you have done. by Pauline Goh
