Called to be Saints

In his homily, Fr. Dom explained that the Solemnity of All Saints is a celebration of all men, women, and children not canonized but struggled in their journey towards holiness and now share the same glory as the Saints in heaven. It is a day that commemorates the unknown who have championed the faith despite all trials. Thus this gives us hope that one day we too may share in this sainthood.

He then prodded the congregation with the following question: “How do we become Saints? “ He said that in the Gospel Matthew( 5 : 1-12), Jesus shows us the way through the beatitudes; to be humble, to have a contrite heart, to submit to God’s will, to hunger and thirst for righteousness, to be merciful, to be pure in heart, to be peacemakers and finally to endure persecution for their faith.

He then asked the congregation to pray for the grace to walk on this journey of Sainthood.
