Pray the Rosary Every Day

The parish commemorated the closing of the Marian month on Thursday, 31st October 2019. Main celebrant, Fr Louis emphasised that the ending of the month was not to mark an end in praying the Rosary, rather the Church has traditionally dedicated the months of May and October as the months of the Rosary as a reminder to the faithful to return to the practice of daily Rosary recitation and to recommit themselves to the practice.

In his homily, Fr Louis expounded on the love of the Father for each one of us. As written by St Paul in his letter to the Romans, God did not spare his own Son, but gave him up to benefit us all. Fr added that no sin is too great to take away God’s love for each one of us. He is a Father who is ever waiting for his children to return to him every time we fall into sin.

Fr Louis also reminded the congregation about the role of Mother Mary in our lives. Before his death, Jesus entrusted his mother to all of us when he commended Our Lady to his Apostle, John. Through this action, we are assured of a mother who loves us and always intercedes for us with the Lord. We on our part should therefore strive to draw closer to our blessed mother, which can be achieved by praying the Rosary. Fr Louis also shared a personal anecdote of his Rosary devotion. He mentioned that whenever there was a storm, his grandmother would ask him to pray the Rosary, which would always result in the storm passing. (KA)
