Altar Server’s Day Out

On 16 August 2019, about 41 servers from the Butterworth Parish had a one day trip to the Penang Island as part of their team building program. Along the way on the bus, they prayed, sang hymns and bonded with one another. They were accompanied by the assistant Parish Priest Fr. Louis Loi, Adviser Gerald Anand and Team leader Raphael. The pictures below highlight their one day adventure:

Visit to the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit
The team congregated for mass at the Church of the Assumption. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Louis Loi. After mass, they visited the Catholic museum, art gallery and the relics displayed there.
A visit to the College General was the highlight of the trip. The servers had a better understanding of the life of a seminarian.
Their final visit was the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus in Balik Pulau. Here they had their sumptuous tea break which included the famous Penang Laksa.

Overall, the servers had a great time bonding with each other- chatting, catching up and having a fun time. Kudos to Raphael and the team for organizing this day trip!!
