Happy New Year 2019

In celebration of the Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God and New Year’s Day mass, Fr. Dom urged the parishioners to take Mary as a model. He said Mary is a perfect model – a simple and faithful woman. We too should strive to be faithful like her.  He thus prescribed a simple recipe for happiness in 2019- ABC.

A: Accept Jesus as our Saviour and God as our Father (Gal 4: 4-7). Put your trust in the Lord.

B: Bless and do not curse. May blessing be uttered and not curses even when we are upset.

C: Contemplate as Mary did. “For Mary treasured all these things and pondered them in her heart” (Lk2:19). Contemplation will draw us closer to God and walk in His ways.

At the end of the mass, Fr. Dom blessed the congregation with the following verses (Num6: 24-26)

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

May the Lord let his face shine on you and be gracious to you,

May the Lord uncover his face to you and bring you peace.
