YEAR END CONCERT

The Year End Concert for Catechism class students took place on the 18th of November at SCIC Hall. Anne Nathan, the coordinator thanked all parents and teachers for their presence and effort in the preparation of the concert.

Both parish priest and assistant parish priest, Rev. Fr. Dominic Santhiyagu and Rev. Fr. Louis Loi congratulated all the young talents for their performances and were delighted to see all three languages coming together as one in making the concert a success. They hoped that such a concert will be held on a yearly basis to nurture the potential of the young people.

The concert was a blend of both secular and spiritual songs. The action songs presented by the very young and budding talents from Std 1 to 6 stole the hearts of those present.

They delighted the crowd with the songs of Peter, James and John in a sailboat, I love my Jesus, I will follow him and many more. A fashion show with retro style among these age group drew cheerful crowds that applauded them with great enthusiasm.

The secondary students from form 1 to form 4 magnificently mesmerized the crowd with their coordinated moves and astounding footwork and gestures in songs for all three languages. Their performance was a testimony of their hard work and rigorous training to make this a successful event.

A meaningful skit not to judge a book by its cover spread the message of not being critical and judgmental but instead to be tolerant and appreciative. A message well conveyed to fit the vision of our Parish “to be Christ centred, magnetic community of peace, love and hope”.

Parents were delighted to see their children perform and so were the teachers and other parishioners. It was night to remember as the young people performed their skits, songs and dances in harmony transcending race and culture. After the concert, the cheerful crowd and participants joined in a fellowship. (by Nikeisha Marien Prakash)
