Youth’s Pizza Night at Nativity Cafe

Around 20 youths from the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Sts. Chastan and Imbert gathered for the pizza night at the Nativity Café on Saturday 23rd July 2022. The aim was to bring youths together for a night of bonding and fellowship after a 2-year break due to the pandemic.

Fr Dom started the night with a prayer and a reading from the Gospel of Luke (11:1-13). He then asked the youths about prayer and shared a few methods in which they can pray to God such as reciting the Rosary, attending mass, singing worship hymns and others. He then invited all the youths to recite the prayer Jesus taught his disciples- the “Our Father”.

Following that, Fr. Dom introduced the new Youth Leaders- Angela for Tamil Youth, Lawrence for Mandarin Youth, Yohann Prakash for Junior Youth and Hemandra as the new parish Youth Coordinator replacing Nicholas Ooi, the former Youth Coordinator. Fr. Dom hoped that the new leaders would bring the youths together and serve the parish.

Overall, the night was fun with a variety of food, games and bonding. Several youths had a delightful time making pizzas with Fr. Dom at the Nativity Café. It was a memorable night and the youths hope to have more gatherings to strengthen their ties and walk together in faith. (by Nicholas Ooi)
