Camino de Santiago: Walking with Jesus; A Journey of Growth and Self Discovery
Camino de Santiago also known as Way of St James is an inspiring spiritual journey for all those seeking a life-time experience. It entails a trail of 100km walk which many take for spiritual reasons, physical wellbeing, to disconnect a bit and reconnect with the inner self. In this Camino walk, Fr. Dom and a few of us (Telly, Nicholas, Jane and I) followed the 100km trail for 5 days beginning from Lugo on 20 September, as following:
- 20 Sept 2023 (Lugo – Friol)
- 21 Sept 2023 (Friol – Melide)
- 22 Sept 2023 (Melide – Arzua)
- 23 Sept 2023 (Arzua – O’Pedrouzo)
- 24 Sept 2023 (O’Pedrouzo – Santiago)
The following are our testimonies:
- I didn’t walk alone. I walked with Jesus and my friends. Jesus is the way. You (pilgrims) were (will be) my companions on the Journey walking with Jesus. Fr. Dom
- The Camino is a very rewarding journey for me as I really enjoyed the solitude with nature. Plus the view and scenery are breathtaking. Nicholas
- Walking the Camino de Santiago was truly a life-changing experience and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Telly
- One of my greatest experiences of my life has been my trip on the Camino. Jane
- My Camino was a journey of blessed assurance and love. I felt the warmth and presence of the spirit in everything around me – the cool breeze, the shady trees, the colourful birds and the farm animals gave me assurance that I was walking with the Lord. When the road seemed lonely and quiet, I would come across another pilgrim that reminded me that I was not alone on this journey. Karen
The Philosophy of Wandering
I only went out for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found was really going in.
