What is God’s Plan for Us?
In a scheduled mass via zoom for the Form 1 to Form 4 students, Fr. Dom explained that although the Gospel reading (Mark 10: 2-16) focuses on Marriage and Divorce, for the teens, Jesus is actually drawing their attention to unity and divorce with God’s plan.
God intended man and woman to be united in marriage, which represents unity and cooperation with His plan. However, when a man chooses to divorce, this represents disunity with God’s plan.
Fr. Dom posed the following questions to the young minds: What is God’s plan for us? Are we united with him in faith or are we moving away from him? What are we doing to be united? What do you want in life?
Fr. Dom explained that God’s plan is for us to be united in love with Him. To be united with God’s plan we need to be united with Him in faith and in the choices we make. He said that the Church chooses confirmation for all those in Form 4. This is a choice the church makes -so that we are united with God’s plan.
In “The Great Divorce” by C.S. Lewis, which tells the tale of a bus ride from Hell to Heaven- he quotes; “the doors of hell are locked on the inside”. We have a choice to open our hearts to God and be united with Him or be detached from Him.
Are we united with God’s plan or are we detached from His plan? asked Fr. Dom again. He said we should thank God for faith and the people in our lives who have helped us to be united with God’s plan. – SR
