Palm Sunday: Without Christ We are Nothing

The Palm Sunday celebration was coordinated by the youth, with the NBVM Youth Choir leading the music and the Confirmation Class organizing the liturgy.

The celebration continued with Father Dom preaching the gospel on Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. Fr. Dom shared an allegory about the donkey on Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. As the donkey made its way through the city carrying Jesus, the crowd cheered and waved palms. At that moment, the donkey felt a sense of self-worth and importance. But, the next day, when the donkey returned to Jerusalem without Jesus, sadly no one was there to greet the donkey. No crowd, applause, no cheers. The donkey once full of self-worth felt ignored and empty. The donkey realized that without Christ, he was nothing.  Fr. Dom invited the congregation to reflect on how, we too like the donkey are nothing without Christ. By Danila Abigail
