Waste Segregation Workshop Series Continues
The Senior Citizens group, under the leadership of Stephen Francis, recently organised Part 2 of their waste segregation talk series on 6th November 2024 at the Nativity Centre. This session featured guest speakers Don and Mylene from St Anne’s Church BM, who provided hands-on demonstrations on identifying recyclable and non-recyclable items.
The talk aimed to create awareness among parishioners about the importance of waste segregation at source, teaching practical skills for separating recyclables. Through the demonstrations, participants gained a clear understanding of proper recycling practices.
A notable outcome from the session was a participant’s suggestion to begin collecting recyclables at BEC or Zone level. This initiative showed how the workshop sparked practical ideas for implementation within our community.
The event helped participants become more aware of the importance of recycling and recomposing. Looking ahead, there are plans to establish a committee to initiate a recyclables collection program, with proceeds going to support St Joe’s Centre.
Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
The Senior Citizens continues to lead by example, showing that environmental responsibility is a vital part of our Christian calling to care for God’s creation. Stay tuned for updates on how you can participate in this inspiring initiative. (Senior Citizens Group)
