Day 3 Mass and Our Commitment
            Day 3 of the confirmation camp began with a sense of bittersweet anticipation. After a fun movie night, we woke up early to the realization that the camp was coming to an end which initially brought me down. However, a friendly greeting from one of my camp mates quickly lifted my spirits. The day was relaxed as we made coffee, played some music, and enjoyed a chill morning. We remembered the two questions the father had asked us to ponder and promptly wrote our answers on a piece of paper. We then headed to the chapel, skipping the usual morning prayer to continue with the Emmaus Mass from the previous day. They prepared a basket to collect the papers we had written- our gratitude and commitment. Following that, we continued the Emmaus Mass with Holy Communion, praying wholeheartedly.

Afterwards, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, which turned out to be a highlight of the day. We had roti canai, one of my favorite dishes, making the meal especially enjoyable.

            After the scrumptious breakfast, we headed to the fourth and final session on apostleship. Father Dominic taught us the values of being an apostle, using the Bible to illustrate his points. Due to the activities from the night before, most of us struggled to keep our eyes wide open during the session, though we did our best. Noticing our drowsiness, Father Dominic broke us into groups of four to discuss his earlier teachings, hoping it would help us wake up. After a brief discussion, it was break time, so my friends and I went to make coffee. Aaron and I decided to visit the gift shop to find a chain for a Jesus necklace, but unfortunately, it was sold out. After that, it was presentation time for each group, where we shared our ideas about what we would commit to the church. Everyone presented interesting and thoughtful ideas, and we agreed to continue refining them as we moved forward.

Following the presentations, we transitioned into a sharing session. Father then briefed us on the two main goals of this confirmation camp: to strengthen our relationship with God and to build better connections with our neighbours. And we really nailed it. Through daily prayers, insightful sessions, and quality time spent with friends, we truly embraced and accomplished these goals.

We were then presented with the budget list for the confirmation camp and were shocked to discover that our camp fees didn’t fully cover the costs. Given the advanced facilities, it made sense, but even with all of us paying the RM100 fee, it only covered about half of the expenses. The parish generously covered the other half, and we were extremely grateful for their support. To make the most of our last moments at the church, we decided to hike to the top of the mountain, where we took a group picture, capturing our time together. Afterward, we enjoyed ourselves by exploring the pond area and admiring the turtles. Before we knew it, more people joined us, and we decided to take another group photo to commemorate the wonderful experience.

In our final moments at the dorms, we gathered to clean up together, discovering the mess left behind from our movie nights. With everyone pitching in to organize and tidy up, the work was done quickly. With some spare time before lunch, we decided to have a karaoke session, using the TV remote as our microphones. Singing our favorite songs at the top of our lungs, we truly enjoyed ourselves. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. It was time for lunch, and we headed downstairs to share our final meal together. Remembering the brother’s 8th rule to stay at the table for 30 minutes during meals, we took the time to converse—about life, Jesus, and our experiences. It was the perfect way to close out our time at the camp. Eventually, it was time to leave. We gathered our luggage, said our farewells, and left with memories to cherish.
