Insightful Talk on Investigative Journalism
On 18 August 2024, around 50 of our parishioners gathered to hear from fellow NBVM parishioner, Dato’ Arulldas Sinnappan, who shared his inspiring journey as an investigative journalist. Arulldas spoke candidly about the challenges he faced in his career and the deep sense of fulfilment that comes from uncovering the truth.
He also reflected on how the faith and values he developed growing up in NBVM provided a strong foundation for his work, fuelling his passion for pursuing truth and promoting social justice. It was a valuable opportunity for everyone present to gain insight into how investigative journalism can inspire courage and drive positive change.
The event concluded with a book signing of his work, Mass Graves, with part of the proceeds generously donated to the House of St. Joseph.
We thank Dato’ Arulldas for his time and look forward to more opportunities to learn and grow together as a parish community. (Media team)
It was like watching thriller movies. Gruesome acts of perpetrators was uncovered by an ordinary man who always yearns ‘to be the voice for the voiceless souls’. I am amazed with his courages same as our Lord Jesus Christ. He willfully took the risk climbing through the hills of ‘Wang Kelian’ to uncover the heinous crime of heartless humans just to make money out of innocent souls who looks for greener pastures. I saw Dato’s faithfulness in bringing justice to the world, a virtue derived from Baptism . Our Dato S. Aruldass will be remembered by Malaysian history. I hope this book will be in all academic institutions for the leaders of tomorrow to study and to gain courage to follow Dato S Aruldass pathways. Aside, I really salute his family especially his wife Datin Theresa Aruldass for her fervent prayers for safety of her husband. Thanking wholeheartedly all those who were organised the event.
