A Celebration of Faith, Food and Fellowship
On Sunday, August 4th, 2024, the Nativity Hall came alive with the vibrant sounds and delicious aromas of the Food Fiesta organised by the NBVM/SCIC Liturgical family. From 8 am to 1 pm, our church community gathered in a beautiful display of unity, generosity and faith.
The event, conceived with the noble goal of supporting the beloved House of St. Joe, exceeded all expectations. The Liturgical family was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from both our parish family and friends of other faiths and backgrounds. Willing hands, generous sponsors and an abundance of culinary delights transformed our hall into a bustling bazaar of goodwill.
As rendition of songs by the band filled the air, creating a joyful atmosphere, visitors explored a variety of food stalls offering tempting treats. A complimentary photo booth captured the smiles and laughter of the day, providing lasting memories for all who attended.
What made this event special was the genuine sense of God’s love that touched every interaction. Our church felt like Our Home, with everyone sharing their unique gifts to create a vibrant community spirit. We handed out free coupons to those in need, opening doors to evangelisation and spiritual growth.
Many participants remarked on the fruitful fellowship experienced during the fiesta. It was a time to mingle, share meals and strengthen bonds within our church family. The event beautifully demonstrated our commitment to enlarging our tent, reaching out to others in love and service.
This Food Fiesta was more than just a fundraiser; it was a living testament to our church’s mission. It showcased our unity as the Body of Christ, empowered by God’s love to serve with joy for His glory. The event inspired us to continue coming together, recognising and appreciating the diverse talents God has blessed us with, and using them for the greater good.
Looking ahead, the success of the event has sparked enthusiasm for future initiatives that will focus on boosting our spiritual and moral values in the image and likeness of God. As we reflect on this wonderful day, we are filled with gratitude for the generosity of hearts and the power of community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who contributed, participated and supported this event. Together, we have shown that when we unite in faith and purpose, we can achieve great things. Praise God through St. Joseph. (Lit Team)
