Senior Citizens Jumble Sale Raises Funds for St Joe’s

The Senior Citizens Jumble Sale, held on Sunday, 7th July 2024, was a fundraising initiative organised by our Senior Citizens Ministry, led by Mr Stephen Francis and Madam Anne Louisa, to support the House of St Joe’s Building Fund. The event aimed to bring the community together while raising necessary funds for a noble cause. The main activities included the sale of various items such as food, clothes, household and kitchenware, shoes, and decorative items.

Approximately 200 people attended and about 50 participants contributed through the donation of items and by preparing and selling homemade cakes, cookies, and desserts.

The event saw a wonderful turnout, with the conference room buzzing with activity as people engaged in lively conversations and shopped for various items.

Due to popular request, the Jumble Sale event was extended to 14th July 2024. This extension proved to be another day of success, with additional donations bringing the total amount collected to RM6,042.00.

The event embodied our parish’s mission by fostering community spirit. The overwhelming support and participation from the community exemplified our collective commitment to the parish’s goals and initiatives.

Building on the success of this event, the group plans to organise more community-focused initiatives and activities aimed at spiritual growth. Stay tuned for more events that bring us together and strengthen our church community.

Next on the agenda is a free BMI and weight examination event conducted by one of our doctors, continuing our commitment to community health and well-being.
