Faith in Action: Restoration and Renovation of the House of St. Joseph

The once-grand old church had seen better days, its facade weathered and faded, its once-gleaming windows now cracked and broken. But for the parishioners of NBVM, the old church was not just a building – it was a symbol of their heritage, their community, and their faith. For years, the idea of restoring & renovating the old church had lingered in the hearts and minds of the NBVM parishioners, a dream that seemed out of reach due to many factors.

That is until Rev. Fr. Dominic Santhiyagu together with the committee team launched a fundraising project for the restoration and renovation of the House of St. Joseph (St. Joe’s), on 19th May 2024. As the Pentecost Mass was being concluded, Fr.Dominic stood alongside the committee members, Dato Peter Teoh, Alex Ambrose, and Stephen Chin as they ceremoniously cut the ribbon on the banner.

The St. Joe’s Restoration committee had set up a collection box for the parishioners to come forward to contribute what they could. Fr. Dominic led by example, donating two months of his allowance towards the restoration fund. His act of generosity is an inspiration to others to give generously.

Up to this date, 22nd May 2024, the committee has already collected RM46,929.57.

Donations toward the St. Joe’s Restoration can be made to the following account or via eWallet:
