When God Calls….

This week the first reading focuses on the call of Samuel.

And the Lord came and stood: and he called, as he had called the other times: Samuel, Samuel. And Samuel said: Speak, Lord, for thy servant heareth.(1 Sam 3:10)

Have you heard your name being called by God? asked Fr. Stanley. He explained that all of us have a longing to be known and loved by God. Hearing your name being called when you are asleep or  in a dream has spiritual meaning- god is calling you for a purpose or a mission. It is a call of love and affection.

Fr. Stanley explained dreams connect us subconsciously to God. Joseph received his divine message in a dream. Jacob dreamed of a ladder connecting heaven and earth. A call from God is a call to awaken to deeper relationship with him. Your life is not the same when he calls your name.

So, have you heard your name being called?
