Celebrating Success at the NBVM Church Badminton Tournament
27 August 2023: The Nativity Of Blessed Virgin Mary Church held a thrilling badminton tournament that brought together not only its parishioners but also members from nearby communities. The event was a day of friendly competition that showcased both the joy of playing and the spirit of togetherness.
Held at the SCIC Hall in Prai, the tournament featured two categories: Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles. The event was set up so both experienced players and enthusiastic newcomers could take part and have fun. The matches were really exciting, with players showing off their quick moves, reflexes, and skills. The crowd cheered them on as they made strong shots, delicate plays, and lightning-fast net moves.
Rev. Fr Raymond Raj expressed his gratitude for the turnout and the positive atmosphere, emphasising the importance of staying active and maintaining a close connection to faith.
As the day’s games came to an end, participants left with smiles on their faces and a sense of camaraderie. The event not only celebrated the thrill of competition but also highlighted how sports can create strong bonds within a community.

Third Place: Teoh Kheng Liang, Sobban Raj
Mixed Doubles:
Champions: Rushendraan Ramachandran, Parveena Shanker
Runners-up: Juliana Lee, Michael Sit
Third Place: Rythissh A/L Mahenthiran, Divissha A/P Singara Velu
For both categories, the prizes included:
- 1st Prize: RM300
- 2nd Prize: Hamper
- 3rd Prize: Hamper
