Mass and Anointing of the Sick
What was supposed to be a ten-person crowd turned out to be four times that size. In his message, Fr Dom thanked all who helped organise the mass and emphasised that many of us, including priests, need healing. The first reading for the day so aptly expressed that without the Lord, all is nothing, and it is He who creates good fortune and calamity.
In his sermon, Fr Joe Stephen reminded us that when we step forward to receive the anointing, there will be people who will be healed in God’s time, there will be people who will receive the grace to endure pain and suffering, and there would be people who will receive communal support to enjoy eternal life with God. God never abandons those who seek Him.
Send your Angel of mercy to everyone in need that pain may be eased,
that wounds may be healed, that fear may be overcome,
that recovery may be swift and complete,
that the entire experience may be one that strengthens faith,
gives hope and encourages them to walk humbly with You, Lord God.
