Homily

Fr. Leo’s homily centred on being humble and standing up for the truth, referring to 1 Cor 2: 1-5, all gifts are from God. He highlighted what was said by Cardinal Vincent Nichols on 2 September 2018 on marriage. Marriage is rooted in the love of God and is an expression of God’s love. Sacramental marriage is inter-twined with the love Christ has for this church. He added that the struggle, sacrifices for one another during the challenges shows God’d love in them and through them.

Blessing of married couples

Fr. Leo sprinkled holy water on the couples and blessed their marriages.

Fr. Dom addressed the community and emphasized on the following:

Meaningful ways to celebrate the NBVM Feast :

  1. Be joyful
  2. Assist one another to celebrate our Feast Day in a meaningful and spirit filled way
  3. Create a prayerful atmosphere for all- pray for one another
  4. Get to know one another-get at least three new friends during this feast
  5. Come and celebrate the Eucharist as a family
  6. Go for confession-opportunity to reconcile with God and one another
  7. Live as my church, my home
  8. He asked everyone to bring along a friend or family member for the novena
