New Year Blessings and 2023 as the Year of Prayer

“The Lord bless you
    and keep you;
 the Lord make his face shine on you
    and be gracious to you;
 the Lord turn his face toward you
    and give you peace.”’

During the New Year’s Day homily, Fr. Dom asked the parishioners to be a blessing to one another. He also encouraged the parishioners to take time to pray. He said prayer connects us to God and strengthens us. He then officially dedicated 2023 as the Year of Prayer. He invited parishioners to take the opportunity to pray and meditate at the various designated prayer corners at NBVM and SCIC.

“The prayer does not change God, but it changes the one who offers it,”
by philosopher and theologian Søren Kierkegaard in his book Purity of Heart Is to Will One Thing.
